To help me find my way around San Francisco these past few days, I picked up a Bike Map at a local bookstore there. I'm glad I did, because otherwise I would not have known about the Duboce Bikeway Mural. This link will let you see the mural its entirety, which is difficult to capture, because it's something like 360 feet long. I have compiled my favorite details in the slideshow below.
I thought about an interesting convergence of ideas: here was I -- a cyclist and realtor from Chicago musing on creating livable communities, stumbling upon this mural, and the ideas about livability that it represents.
