Speaking of Valley Line Bike Path... Although they've really ripped up Bryn Mawr Ave just south of Kostner, it looks like work on the bike path to nowhere is progressing rather nicely:
Why "to nowhere"? Well, it'll take you as far north as Devon, where you can only ride east, because of the median in the middle of the street. You're on your own then. Devon is not cyclist-friendly at this point, with two lanes of traffic each way, and no shoulder.
If you're heading north, I suppose the best solution would be to hoof it across the median, and catch Kilbourn half a block north, and follow the small residential streets that skirt the western edge of the old train line, but then you get to Touhy, and you're on your own again.
Maybe one day CDOT and CBF will work out a little more trail integration. I may be old and grey by then. Sigh... In the meantime, by spring we should be able to ride the Valley Line to Devon and back, and enjoy its pretty bridges.
