"A veteran Chicago police officer was charged Saturday in the fatal hit-and-run that killed a 13-year-old boy who had sneaked outside to ride his bike with friends on the South Side Friday." according to the Chicago Tribune.

The off-duty cop was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, and failed to stop after he fatally struck the boy.

My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to Trenton Booker's family.

Such a sad story. Seems off-duty Chicago cops have been involved in quite a few traffic deaths in the last year or so.
